1. The Rotor: A high-speed rotating shaft forms the central drive.

How It Works:
Material fed into the top or side inlet encounters the rapidly swinging hammers head-on. The primary reduction occurs through direct impact blows shattering brittle materials instantly. Smaller particles are then flung against the chamber linings and grate bars for secondary reduction via impact and attrition (rubbing). Particles small enough to pass through the openings in the screen exit as product; larger particles remain within the chamber until sufficiently reduced by repeated hammer strikes.
